Penta Infra, a fast-growing European colocation data center provider, has started construction of their new colocation data center in Hamburg. The construction of the new data center will be completed early 2025. With this, Penta Infra significantly expands their data center capacity in northern Germany.

With the strategic integration of the new Hamburg data center into its operations, Penta Infra not only bolsters its already robust infrastructure but also underscores its commitment to building a comprehensive pan-European network of edge and core data centers. The site in Hamburg will be developed to an IT capacity of 4,4 MW. The new state of the art data center with over 2.500 m2 of IT space and will be built in line with the highest industry standards regarding energy efficiency, security and redundancy. The data center will use 100% renewable energy, the front facade of the data center will be covered with integrated solar panels and the building will also accommodate the re-use of heat. The re-use of heat is something that Penta Infra successfully realized in their Copenhagen data center, which delivers heat to around 1.500 homes and has received an award for most sustainable data center project in Denmark. The new data center will be on the main fiber backbones and is integrated in the existing campus, allowing customers to directly tap into the Hamburg ecosystem from day one.
